𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟲𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗜𝗣𝘃𝟲 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵.

Coincidentally, we have just crossed a monumental threshold: global native IPv6 adoption among Google users has officially surpassed the 50% milestone for the first time.

The transition from the legacy 32-bit architecture of IPv4 to the massive 128-bit space of IPv6 is one of the most critical infrastructure migrations in human history. As we celebrate this special date, here is a quick snapshot of where the global implementation stands today:

🌐 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗣𝘃𝟲 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

✔️ The Tipping Point: Native IPv6 traffic has reached the majority threshold (over 50%) on major consumer and mobile networks, driven heavily by global telecom giants.

✔️ Top Adopters: Countries like France, Germany, and India are leading the charge, routing well over 70% of their traffic via native IPv6.

✔️ Italy’s Progress: Long considered a laggard in adoption, Italy has officially climbed past the 20% milestone, currently sitting at ~21%. It is a steady step forward, though much work remains compared to its European neighbors.

✔️ The Enterprise Gap: While mobile and home environments are largely dual-stacked or IPv6-only, many internal enterprise networks and smaller organizations still lag behind, sticking to IPv4 workarounds.

✔️ Server-Side Progress: Roughly 70% of top domain name servers are dual-stacked, but only about 35% of the top 1 million websites natively support dual-stack HTTP.

Fourteen years ago today, the industry united to permanently turn on IPv6. Today, half the world is running on it. If your organization has not fully planned its migration yet, there is no better day to start than today.
