Building a Resilient Network: Inside the Evolution of Rome’s Digital Infrastructure

Great success at the MIX – Milan Internet Exchange event in Rome: Interconnessione Capitale (Capital Interconnection). A crucial gathering that brought together leading figures from the Telco, ISP, and Cloud industries to discuss the evolution of digital infrastructure in Central and Southern Italy.

A highlight of the event was the active participation and strategic contribution of AIIP | Associazione Italiana Internet Provider. As an association that has championed small and medium ISPs for decades, AIIP emphasized the critical need for a pluralistic market and robust infrastructure to support local digital growth. Rome is rapidly solidifying its strategic role as a technology hub, and an open, interconnected environment is essential to unlocking its full potential.

Thanks to the continuous development of MIX’s IX Edge PoPs in Rome (located within the Mediterra DataCenters and Aruba S.p.A. campuses at Tecnopolo Tiburtino), the national network gains greater resilience, drastic latency reductions, and unprecedented capillarity.

A special thank you to the entire MIX team, the speakers from AIIP, and all the professionals who attended to exchange ideas, network, and chart the course for Italian connectivity.
